We left Tarifa in a fishing boat at 5pm. The windblown Straits of Gibraltar – choppy, rolling, vast, mesmerising, tossed us and soaked us, but it was hot and bracing and all rather wonderful.
Below – first glimpse of a sperm whale. 9 metres long. Magnificent.
Below – a group of pilot whales. The highlight of the trip was watching, entranced, a mother and baby swimming in unison, surfacing, swooping, ducking and diving… So exciting I couldn't take a photo…
Below – a group of dolphins swimming along side us. And again, every time they surfaced I was just too enthralled to stop watching and photograph.
What a lovely excursion. Really fun. Finished off the day with a lovely mexican supper at 100% Fun – that's the name of the hotel/restaurant! Yum!
